Meet Mélanie A. Hope

A chance is not something that can be given or granted, rather, it is something that you must take.
-Mélanie Hope

Speaker

Mélanie loves to help others overcome their past hurts and setbacks by getting them involved in their own destiny. She believes that no matter what life hands you, it is your conscious, intentional decision to stop being a victim that gets you to the next level. She meets you where you are and lifts you up through her stories and humor.

Mélanie has been described as a whorl of energy and enthusiasm, which has led her to such awards as Toastmaster’s Area 42 Spark Plug of the Year and First Place in the 2010 District 32′s Humorous Speech Contest.

In August of 2011, she competed in the semi-finals of the World Championship of Public Speaking in Las Vegas, Nevada. (This means that she was one of 82 contestants from a pool of 30,000 participants from 116 countries!)

Mélanie has spoken for crowds of thousands, taught classes of dozens and coached one-on-one. It is her creative worldview that helps her make the connection for learning with others.

Writer

Mélanie has been writing ever since grade school and has had her poems, stories and essays published in literary collections, magazines, journals, newspapers and online. She published “The Employment Empowerment Workshop” in 2009 and released her book, “Nose-to-Nose Networking” in 2010. She is currently working on a keynote series based on her book, “Get Over It & Get Started” published in 2011. She has three more books in the works and continues to write for various publications and blogs.

Musician

Mélanie comes from a very musical family and has been singing since she could make a sound. As a young girl, she was part of the Northwest Girlchoir and sang many solos in her school productions. As an adult, she sang for the Living Cross, the Singing Christmas Tree and Victorian Country Christmas. In 2009, she joined Andrew T. Currently, she sings and plays drums for her small, local Unity Church and occasionally sings the National Anthem for local games and events.
